So Many choices!

Hi There,

This is my first post ever! I am excited and a little nervous. I was having coffee with one of my friends and we were speaking about all this web stuff, social media and SEO and SEM and Blogging and I said that I had to start my blog that I have been putting it off for about 2 months now! Time does fly! So I had to think about what to blog about. So I thought I would take the very ingenious Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David way and blog about nothing!

Well, ok not totally about nothing .... you see I have been laid off from my job and while it does pose a good time to reflect and ponder what your next steps are it is also a time I think to re-discover, re-invent yourself. Ok ... so some of you are saying, Michelle, how many times are you going to re-invent yourself!!?? Yes it does feel like I am in this position more times then not. But here is the question or questions I have. I have at least 8 different things I am pondering and contemplating to pursue that it freezes me up to where I do nothing at all until yes, I get another job! Then all of these thoughts are on the back burner again until my contract runs out of another wonderful economic downturn happens.

So here are the things I am thinking about. Being an artist at heart and creative, it does feel somewhat frustrating to see all that lay ahead of me.

So here goes the list!

1) Blogger! Yes, I could be a blogger. Did you know that this is a title that people have taken on?? I could do my blogg about nothing that actually turns into something!

2)Design a clothing line for Crohn's disease in which I have and can not image being in a conference room meeting and have an accident! Yikes! My clothing line would be designed for that in mind. I graduated from FIT and I love fashion, does this count as experience?

3) Event Masters - This is one of my companies that have been on the back burner. I have experience with corporate events such as conferences, seminars, trade shows and parties and love putting it all together!

4) Connect the Dots - Another company that I formed in 2003 to help kids and adults find their passion and what they want to do in their lives! Kind of like what I am doing right now! I had a lot of fun with this venture and feel "connected" to it still. I developed a program and could publish that into a workbook.

5) Marketing - of course my marketing. Seems like I am always a hired gun and could do this with maybe having all of these other things on the side so I won't have to worry about my contracts running out all the time!

6) My Art! - I love photography, painting, drawing, and have done these things for gifts and have entered into small shows but could take it a step deeper.

7) The Trump Network - some of you know that I joined the Trump Network with customized Vitamins which I am taking and have one marketer so far. I could get into this but don't seem to have the time for this even though I am not working!

8) Write my book - I guess there is a book in all of us and I have been chomping at the bit to write mine!

I feel that all of these are great things but what to do, what to do! Like I said before I don't know where to start so I get frozen about it and then do nothing at all.

Please tell me your thoughts, they mean a lot to me!

Thanks for listening!

Have a great nite!
Michelle

  2. Good for you. I share some of the same questions on what to do. You definitely could write about all of the above and post some of your photos and art on your blog.

With regard to experience as you know -everything counts. I am intrigued with #2 - this actually could be funny- do give us your own personal take on this. Also if you were going to design a tee shirt for this disease/fundraising etc.-- what would it look like.
